Do You Worry About Being Taped or Recognized As A Webcam Model?

A very common question is whether I worry about my show being taped. No. Not at all.

I know the technology is out there to tape shows. I know people can tape shows with cameras. But then what would they do with it? Seriously? If anyone were to share a recording of your performance do you know what that would do for you? You would have such a big lawsuit you probably would make more money from that then any cam show. It is totally illegal to record a show, let alone share it or upload it. The performances you do on cam for any network are considered the property of that studio. Distribution of that runs into copyright infringments. Then on top of that you have the unauthorized use of your image, invasion of privacy, it goes on and on.

I don’t know a single model who has ever had their show recorded and spread throughout the internet. It is  a common fear, but when it comes down to it a completely irrational one, and if it did for some strange reason happen, you would be in a legal jackpot. There are some countries that can impose 5 years in prison for recording someone on a web cam and replaying it without authorization. And it has been established that just because you are a paid performer does not mean that you have given authorization to be recorded.

Good web sites like F4F will record private performances so that if a member wants to rewatch the performance, they can by looking in your archives. These previously recorded videos are also kind of like ads where people can watch a little to see if they want to go private with you. But there is no threat of them being spread without your consent or knowledge.

Being a web cam model is completely safe. You just block out the states you don’t want and you are fine. Unauthorized rebroadcast of a private web cam show is completely illegal. So no, I do not ever worry about being taped and then rebroadcast. There are times where I kind of hope for it for a big money lawsuit, but that’s not going to happen either.
