How To Make Money As A Webcam Model

To make money on camera, you basically have to sell yourself to the customers. You need to give them a reason to come in and see you. Once they have that reason, and you prove you are worth their time and money they will come back to you over and over. As time goes on and more people see you rise in the rankings, they are going to want to come see what you have to offer.

So how do you market yourself? Each website is a little bit different as far as how you are first seen by the customer. The one consistent thing is they all have a primary photo. Your primary photo will be the deciding factor as to whether the customer visits your room or not. Here are some tips on making the perfect photo.

1) Look good, but not too good. The worst thing a model can do s take the best picture ever of themselves and use it as their primary photo. You might think this sounds awkward, but think about it. What customers see on that profile pic is what they expect. Girls, are you going to doll yourself up in makeup and fix your hair perfectly every time you are on? Some models put their most beautiful photo on as their primary picture and it looks glamorous. But then what happens those days you decide to just quick log on to make a quick $100? You won't bring in many new customers because they are expecting what you look like in the photo. Guys, you get all sweaty and ripped after your workout and take a pic that should be on Men's Fitness, but then you miss a day at the gym or log on when you aren't all hot and sweaty. Customer's coming in to see you expect a complete stud and don't get that muscle popping stud. You don't want to create an expectation that you have to live up to every time you go on camera.

2) Use a real camera to take the picture. Webcam pictures are unflattering and sometimes blurry. By presenting this type of photo, you are coming off as you don't take yourself as a serious webcam model. You want your picture to look crisp, clear and thought out. If you have a poor webcam picture as your main picture, the expectation may be set that you provide a poor show.

3)Backgrounds should be clean. Take it in your house on a couch, take it outside on the beach, use a studio if you can. Just don't have a cluttered background. You don't want to come off as a slob.

4)You don't have to show your face in your profile pic. This is especially helpful if you do not want to be seen. I for example do not use a face shot in my profile pic. I prefer to not be seen publicly. If people go in my room so be it. I have face pics where paying members can see me, but not free guests. Yes they can see me on cam in the free room, but I don't have to worry about my photos being used in ways not intended. Girls can take a nice cleavage shot, a shot of your favorite outfit on the floor, a shot of your feet stepping out of panties. There are a lot of options. Guys, have your back to the camera, show your chest, show your underwear line. You can maintain a low profile and make money.

Now let's look at ways to improve your customer base on each individual network.

F4F

On F4F profile pictures are aligned by the model's rank on the site. Don't be fooled - you can rank high very quickly by following tricks I have outlined in other portions of this blog. Your status appears as an inset over your photo box, Status' include "Party," "In Show," and "Premiere." If you are available, there is a "chat now" link that brings the guest into your room. Your chosen screen name is also under your name. It is important you create an alluring screen name (that will be a different post). There is also a link for the customer to "View Bio." With F4F it is important most of your focus in creating your account is in the photo. On  F4F the photo is what sells you. This is what will determine if customers come into your room.

Internetmodeling

Internetmodeling lets customers search models by their ranking. A customer can search by 3 star, 4 star or 5 star rated models as well as search by newest. here you have an advantage being new because there is a search just for new models. Take advantage of being new and be on as frequently as possible when you are new on this site. There are always models quitting, and there are always models coming on cam. Customers who lost a model are looking for a replacement - make that you. The search by stars is great too because it is all based on customer rating. So if your first customer rates you 5 stars, then you have a great opportunity to be found by customers searching for 5 star models. On Internetmodeling your picture includes your name, your status "Online," "Party" or "Gold Show." Here you can also include one or two sentences. A little tag line about what you can do. Tag lines can break or break a model. They are not easy. They have to be sexy without being arrogant. Arrogance does not convey well to customers. if you come off thinking you are better then them, or feel you are a gift to humanity because of how you look, customer's will run. This is especially true for guys. Some of the best looking guys on cam get no customers because their tag lines are them talking about how perfect they are. Stay humble and sexy at the same time. Customers want someone real, that is why they turn to webcams. They don't want something unattainable or someone who thinks they are so good looking that they like watching themselves on cam better then connecting with someone. If you go with Internetmodeling I am going to hon you in on a big trick. Take a good picture. most people's pictures on Internetmodeling look like garbage. They are blurry and out of focus. Some even have rooms that look like disaster areas. You get a halfway decent profile pic on there and you are already three steps ahead of anyone already on there.

Livejasmin is a little unique. Your profile pic is displayed, but as soon as someone rolls over it with their mouse, they see the live cam. This is why Livejasmin is such a busy, popular site. Customers can instantly see what is going on in a model's room without clicking links to go into the room. From a model's perspective, you need to be aware. Always know that what you are doing on cam can be seen by someone scrolling over. So on this site, you can never look bored or uninterested. if you are smiling and having fun, those people scrolling over your profile pic and seeing your live room will have no interest in coming in to that room. Always remember here that just because a paying member isn't in your room, it doesn't mean that they aren't peeking in and debating about stopping by. End the debate and make them enter. Livejasmin has two buttons under your profile picture. One says "Go Private" and the other can change from "Free Chat," "Private Chat" or "Member Chat." As a model, it is in your interest to check out the different models and see how often some of them are in private chat and then think about how much money they are making. it is mind boggling. I make good money, but some of them . . . Wow! I could only wish for that. Livejasmin allows viewers to search models in different categories. "Most Popular," "Alphabetical," Classic View," "Recommended For You" and "Newbies." Again, you have the opportunity to make the most you can on this site by being new. Get online as often as you can while you are a "Newbie" and get as many customers hooked on your room as soon as possible. You might also want to take in consideration the "Alphabetical Search." If your name starts with an "A", you are one of the first models you see. A "a" comes even before that. BUT, I suggest you stay away from the "a" and "A". Models who chose to start their name with "a" in front of a word look like they are there for money and nothing else. They look like they want to be first ones picked. You also have to remember that there are a few pages of models and customers are going to want to start to go through the pages. So, the first pages might be bypassed to see what else is there. The customer may think "This is just the first page, I'll come back to it." By the third page, they lose interest in continuing the seach and are probably wanting to go into a room. By now they are in the "B" or "C" section. So don't jump the gun and try to be the first one noticed or you will be overlooked.

On whatever site you chose, it is important you find a way to stand out. Use the information I have laid out to make yourself do just that. When you are a new model you don't think about these things until it too late. you want to get customers as soon as you start up. I knew none of this information when I started, and it hurt me. It made my start up slow, and I almost quit because of it. You remember these tricks when you get your profile established and you will be making money in no time.
